A gate anchor is the fixed half of an electric fence gateway: the insulated loop screwed into the post that the gate handle hooks onto and pulls against. This is Agrifence's woodscrew double-loop pattern, code H6012, supplied ten to a pack — enough for five gateways run from both sides, or ten single openings.

The double loop is the point of it. One loop carries the live line coming in along the fence, the other takes the gate handle, so the handle can be unhooked and the gateway left open without the loose end swinging back onto an earthed post. Agrifence recommend it for short-term and seasonal work rather than a permanent stock gate.

How to Use

• Choose a sound, dry timber post at the height your live line already runs.
• Drive the woodscrew shank in square until the body sits flush against the timber.
• Take the incoming fence line through one loop and leave the second loop free for the gate handle.
• Repeat on the far post so the handle has a fixed anchor at each end of the opening.
• Unhook the handle from the anchor to open; hang it clear of the ground so the loose line cannot short out.
