Fresh Bed is a finely chopped, dust-extracted straw bedding developed with the British Hen Welfare Trust. It is infused with natural pine oil, included for its antibacterial and antifungal properties, which helps keep the coop floor hygienic between changes.

The dust extraction and fine chop are what make it suitable for ex-commercial and rescue hens, whose respiratory systems and feet are often in poor condition when they arrive. It is soft underfoot, breaks down far faster than shavings or wood pellets once removed, and composts quickly into a nutrient-rich fertiliser. A 100 litre bale lasts roughly four weeks for five hens.

Care & Caution

• Not suitable for rabbits, guinea pigs or other small furries.
• Spread a generous layer in the coop or nest box, top up regularly, and replace fully as needed.
• Store off the ground in a dry place.
