Canagan Ocean Fish Cat Soup – 140g

Cats evolved to take most of their water from prey, and a cat on dry food often does not drink enough to make up the difference. This soup is Canagan's answer to that: 95% moisture, 89% ocean fish soup with 2.5% mackerel and 2.5% sardine in slow-cooked pieces, in a 140g serving that most cats will take readily.

Nutritionally it is deliberately slight — crude protein 3%, crude fat 0.1%, crude ash 1% — because it is there for fluid and interest rather than calories. It is also entirely chicken free, which is not true of most of Canagan's cat range. Taurine is added at 300 mg/kg, with vitamin E, biotin, zinc and glycine.

Suitable For

• Fussy cats and cats off their food, where a strong-smelling fish broth gets them to the bowl.
• Cats that cannot have chicken — this is one of the few Canagan cat products with none in it.
• Complementary only, at 3% protein. It cannot be fed as a cat's meal; it goes alongside a complete food such as Canagan Free-Run Chicken Dry Cat Food or the Canagan cat cans.

Feeding

• Serve between meals as a snack, or poured over food as a topper.
• Canagan give no daily maximum; treat it as an extra alongside the complete diet, not as part of the ration.
• It is a complementary food, so the cat's complete food should be fed at its normal amount.
• Fresh drinking water still needs to be available at all times — the soup supplements it, it does not replace it.
• Serve at room temperature; straight from the fridge many cats will leave it.
