Two fish in one can: 58% whole tuna meat with salmon at 5%, in 32% tuna broth. Of the tuna pairings this is the one most cats take to first, because salmon is the fish they are most likely to have eaten already and it smells familiar rather than briny.

There is no chicken in it at any point, so it is a practical everyday can for a cat off poultry — a rather more useful thing to know than the omega-3 claims that often get attached to salmon recipes, since Canagan publish no omega figures for these cans at all.

Feeding

• Canagan publish one figure for their cat cans: two to three cans a day for any adult cat.
• Canagan publish no separate kitten figure for the cans — their kitten guides cover the dry food and the 85g pouches — so feed a kitten to condition and growth.
• Canagan advise adjusting by 10% either way if your cat is carrying too much or too little condition.
