Forthglade Complete Adult Sardines with Sweet Potato & Vegetables – Grain Free, 395g

Forthglade Complete Adult Sardine with Sweet Potato & Vegetables – 395g

Sardines make up 75% of this tray, which is a very high inclusion for a wet food and the reason it smells the way it does the moment the lid comes off. Oily fish brings its own omega-3, and dogs that have grown bored of chicken and beef tend to fall on it.

Forthglade build it grain-free on sweet potato at 4%, with carrots and peas at 2% each, and add glucosamine and chondroitin at 50mg/kg apiece along with chicory root extract and a four-herb blend. It is a complete food for adult dogs, so a tray needs nothing alongside it.

Performance & Benefits

• Sardines at 75% — an unusually high meat-and-fish inclusion for a 395g wet tray.
• Grain-free, and Forthglade describe all their wet recipes as hypoallergenic.
• Glucosamine and chondroitin both at 50mg/kg.
• Chicory root extract at 0.05% and a dried herb blend of parsley, rosemary, nettle and camomile at 0.12%.
• 129 kcal per 100g, with crude fat at 8% — richer than Forthglade's poultry recipes.
• Complete food, so it needs no mixer, biscuit or supplement.

Suitable For

• Adult dogs of any size, fed to the tray count for their weight.
• Dogs that have gone off chicken, turkey and beef recipes.
• Owners looking for an oily fish protein rather than a white fish one.
• Feeding as a complete meal or spooned over a dry food as a topper.
• Not a senior or puppy recipe. For an older dog Forthglade make a Senior Turkey with Butternut Squash at 104 kcal per 100g and 6% fat, which we also stock.

Feeding

• Forthglade's daily guide: half to one and a quarter trays for a dog up to 10kg.
• 10–25kg, one and a quarter to one and three quarter trays; 25–40kg, one and three quarters to two and a quarter.
• 40–70kg, two and a quarter to three and a quarter trays a day.
• Split the daily amount across two meals and adjust on body condition.
• Cover and refrigerate a part-used tray, and keep fresh water available.
