Canagan Petite Country Game Pâté – 100g

Country Game is the mixed-game tray: 65% game meat made up of venison at 25%, goose at 20% and duck at 20%. Goose is the unusual one — very few UK dog foods use it at all, let alone at a fifth of the recipe — and it gives the pâté a darker, denser character than the poultry trays.

It also carries the lowest ash in the Petite range at 1.5% and the lowest fibre at 0.4%, with fat at 8% sitting between the lean fish tray and the rich boar one. Organic carrots and peas appear at 1.5% each, along with sweet potato at the same rate.

Feeding

• By Canagan's guide: 2–3 trays a day at 3kg bodyweight, 3–4 at 5kg, 4–5 at 7kg, 5–6 at 10kg, 6–7 at 12kg.
• Introduce it over a few days, raising the proportion of new food each day.
• Serve at room temperature — a tray straight from the fridge smells of very little.
• Refrigerate once opened and use within two days.
• Move the ration 10% up or down on condition, with fresh water alongside.
