Canagan Petite Beef Stew Pâté – 100g

Beef Stew is the only single-protein red meat tray in the Canagan Petite range: 66% beef and nothing else animal in the list apart from a trace of salmon oil and green lipped mussel powder. Beef carries more iron and B vitamins than poultry, and it smells of considerably more, which is why it is the tray to reach for when a small dog has gone off its food.

The texture is a true pâté rather than chunks in jelly, so it can be mashed, spread over kibble or fed straight from the 100g tray. Organic carrots and organic peas at 2% each give it a little colour and fibre without much starch, and moisture sits at 78%.

Suitable For

• Small dogs of any age, fed as the meal or spooned over dry food.

• Older small dogs whose teeth will no longer manage chunks.
• Dogs doing better on a single named meat rather than a mixed recipe.
• Not the tray for a dog that reacts to beef — Canagan Petite Chicken Hotpot Pâté or Petite Cod with Herring Pâté avoid it entirely.

Feeding

• Canagan's tray guide: a 3kg dog 2–3 trays a day, 5kg 3–4, 7kg 4–5, 10kg 5–6, 12kg 6–7.
• Introduce it over a few days, raising the proportion of new food each day.
• Serve at room temperature — a tray straight from the fridge smells of very little.
• Refrigerate once opened and use within two days.
• Adjust by about 10% either way on body condition, and keep fresh water available.
