Stickles are baked sticks rather than compressed blocks, made to be hung in the enclosure so the animal has to work at them. That is the point of them: a rabbit or guinea pig with something to gnaw at is a rabbit or guinea pig that is not chewing the hutch.

Ground Timothy hay makes up 8.5% of the stick, and there is dried apple and dried cranberry at 1% each, which Supreme give as equivalent to 7% of the fresh fruit. There is also added sugar and a colourant, which is why the feeding rate is as low as it is.

Feeding

• Not suitable for an overweight animal, or one recovering from a digestive upset.
• Hang the stick where it cannot fall and be eaten whole, and take out what is left if an animal has gorged on it.
