The plain meadow herb treat, without the biotin or glucosamine versions' additions, in a 1kg bag. Twelve herbs go into it — balm herb, mint, dandelion, marjoram, golden rod, nettle, parsley, sage, clover, garlic, oregano and rosemary — which is an unusual number for a treat and gives them a genuinely different smell from the apple and mint bags.

That difference is the practical reason to buy them. A horse that has stopped being interested in a sweet treat will often take a herbal one, and having two flavours on the go keeps a reward working in training. Spillers also make these in a 3kg bag; this listing is the 1kg.

Feeding

• Give one or two treats at a time.
