Simple System Calm Balance+ – 15kg

Calm Balance+ is a full forage balancer that happens to be built for reactive horses, rather than a calmer bolted onto a basic feed. Its base is sainfoin instead of lucerne, with magnesium sulphate and the B-group vitamins that come from stabilised dried yeast — the two nutrients most consistently associated with nervous system function.

Sugar is declared under 3%, unusually low even by Simple System's standards, and starch under 5%. That matters more here than anywhere else: a tense horse fed sugar is a tense horse with fuel. Cooked full fat linseed lifts the oil to 9–11% and brings Omega 3 with it, and the balancer is designed for long-term feeding rather than only for the week before a competition.

Feeding

• Introduce gradually over a week, as with any new feed.
• Feed 100g per 100kg ideal — not actual — bodyweight daily, divided between two feeds.

• Quick soaking: use 2 to 2.5 parts water to 1 part feed.
• Feed as part of a complete Simple System forage diet for best results.
