The Manhattan is Scruffs' box-shaped bed: one piece of construction with filled sidewalls running straight up from the mattress, so a dog gets a bolster to lean against on all four edges rather than a flat pad. This is the smallest of the four sizes at 50 x 40cm, and that is the overall bed measurement — the usable area inside the walls is smaller, which puts it with toy breeds, small dogs and cats.

The fabric is a soft-touch denim blue with a marl finish and outer stitching matched to the cloth, one of four colourways in the collection. Underneath it, Scruffs' SecureTech system anchors the filling at four points so it cannot migrate into one corner — the usual reason a cheap box bed ends up flat on one side and lumpy on the other.

How to Use

• Stand the bed on a level floor out of a draught and let the dog settle to it before expecting it to be used overnight.
• Machine wash the whole bed at 30 degrees. There is no separate cover.
• Do not bleach and do not tumble dry. Dry naturally.
• Reshape the sidewalls by hand while the bed is still damp, and shake the filling back out to the edges.
