Honeychop Lite & Healthy – 15kg

Lite & Healthy is Honeychop's molasses-free blend of oat straw and Timothy grass, dressed with linseed and rapeseed oil and carrying marigold flowers, cinnamon, thyme, oregano, mint and basil. It is built as a low-calorie, easily digestible fibre for horses that hold their weight without much help.

Honeychop's own analysis is 31% fibre, 4% protein, 3.1% total sugar and 0.5% starch at 8MJ/kg, and they recommend it for horses with EMS or PPID and those prone to laminitis. It is free from molasses, alfalfa and soya.

Suitable For

• Good doers, native breeds and anything that needs weight watching.
• Horses with EMS or PPID, and those prone to laminitis — Honeychop name all three.
• Horses fed alfalfa-free or soya-free diets.
• Carrying a balancer or supplement in a small feed.
• Not for pregnant or lactating mares — Honeychop specifically do not recommend it for them, and Honeychop Original or Topline & Shine suit a broodmare better.

Feeding

• Feed as part of a balanced diet, alone or as the carrier for a hard feed.
• Honeychop publish no feeding rate for Lite & Healthy, so none is stated here.
• Change over gradually across several days.
• Fresh water at all times.
