Gorilla Tub Medium 26L – Green

Twenty-six litres is about as much compost, prunings or turf as most people want to lift in one go, and the Medium's 30cm depth and 38.5cm rim carry it without the awkward width of a builder's tub. Full of wet soil it is heavy — this is a two-handed lift, and the two golf-ball handles are placed for it.

Green is the colour that disappears into a garden, which is either the point or a nuisance depending on where you put it down. It also carries a caveat: Red Gorilla state that all Gorilla Tubs are BPA free with the exception of black, green and yellow, so this one is outside that claim.

• If a BPA-free tub is what you want for feed or drinking water, choose another colour — the Medium 26L is also stocked in blue, pink, pistachio, purple, red and sky blue.
• Too deep to work out of comfortably; the Gorilla Tub Large Shallow 35L holds more at a fraction of the depth.

How to Use

• Lift a full one with both hands on the handles — 26 litres of water is about 26kg.
• Use the chamfered edge as a lip: hold the tub on its side and sweep or scoop straight into it.
• Rinse between feed and dirty work; food-grade or not, mortar and hard feed do not belong in the same tub on the same day.
• Wash out with warm water and a mild detergent, then upend it to drain.
• Store it upturned outside, or nest it inside a larger tub.

Care & Caution

• Red Gorilla state that all Gorilla Tubs are BPA free with the exception of black, green and yellow. This green tub falls under that exception. For feed or drinking water where BPA-free matters, choose one of the other colours.
• The tub is still moulded from food-grade LDPE; the exception is about BPA specifically, not food-grade status.
