Multi-Vit Treats do two jobs at once: they are hand-fed treats, and they carry a proper micronutrient load — 15,000 IU of vitamin A, 3,000 IU of vitamin D, 500mg of vitamin E, 5mg of biotin and 300mg each of zinc and manganese in a 30g serving of three or four treats. Live yeast at 2.5 x 10^10 cfu goes in alongside them.

Starch is declared at 4.4% and sugar at 2.7% with nothing added, which is unusual for something a horse will take off your hand. Equine America base the nutrient levels on National Research Council requirements for horses at rest or in light work, which makes these a genuine alternative to a balancer for a forage-fed horse rather than a treat with a vitamin claim on the bag.

Feeding

• Horses 500–600kg: 3–4 treats daily, about 30g.
• Ponies 300–400kg: 2–3 treats daily.
• Donkeys 140–180kg: 1–2 treats daily.
• Maximum 50g, about 10 treats, per day.

Care & Caution

• These are a fortified supplement in treat form, not a plain biscuit. Stay within the 10-treat daily maximum.
• If your horse is already on a balancer or a fortified hard feed, add up the total vitamin A, D and E intake before feeding these on top.
• Contains garlic, which some competition and racing yards prefer to control.
