Emerald Green Grass-Tastic Chop – 12.5kg

The same pure fescue grass as Emerald Green's grass pellets, but chopped rather than pelleted, at 16% protein, 25% fibre and an estimated 11 MJ/kg. Chop and pellet do different jobs from identical raw material: a pellet is compact and soaks into a mash, a chop stays long and fibrous and has to be chewed.

That chewing is the point of a chaff. Mixed through a bucket feed it makes the horse work at the meal instead of bolting it, and every minute of chewing produces saliva, which buffers stomach acid. There is nothing else in the bag — no molasses, no oil coating, no straw making up the volume.

Feeding

• Feed according to bodyweight and workload alongside plenty of forage.
