Ostrich is about as novel as dog-treat protein gets in this country, and half this recipe is made of it — 33% ostrich protein plus 17% hydrolysed ostrich protein. For a dog on an exclusion diet that has already been through lamb, fish and venison, that is a real option rather than a marketing line.
These are baked and crunchy rather than soft, so they hold their shape in a pocket and give the teeth something to work against. Pumpkin at 15% and dried blackberries at 4% cover the fruit and vegetable side, and there is no cereal in the recipe at all.
