At 4.5% crude fat, the salmon Softies are the leanest treat Canagan make in this format — the quail version runs at 6% — while carrying slightly more protein at 32%. If a dog is on a controlled ration and treats are the thing quietly undoing it, that difference over a day's training adds up.

The recipe is salmon at 30% with chicken at 11%, collagen at 4% for skin, coat and nails, and thyme at 0.5% instead of an artificial flavour. Omega 3 comes out at 0.55%, the highest of the Softies range, which is what you would expect from the fish. They stay soft at 17% moisture and tear cleanly.
