Soft Extra is 100% chopped wheat straw, UK grown, shredded and dust extracted at Burlerrow Farm in Cornwall and finished with Burlybed's eucalyptus and aloe vera formulation. Wheat straw makes a softer, more traditional-feeling bed than rape straw, and the fine chop is what makes it free draining rather than matted.

The eucalyptus and aloe are not just for scent. Burlybed describe the eucalyptus as naturally antiseptic and the aloe as soothing, and say together they help create a hygienic stable, combat odours and deter horses tempted to eat their bedding — which is the classic problem with a wheat straw bed.
