Bedsoft Blend is 80% Bedsoft Original chopped wheat straw and 20% Bedsoft Shavings softwood, put together to get what neither manages alone. The straw brings lightness, volume and a springy bed that is cheap to build up; the shavings, in Bedsoft's words, add excellent absorbency and stability.

The wheat straw component is harvested in Essex and processed through Bedsoft's own shredding and chopping system, and the finished bedding is dust-extracted. Bedsoft also give the Blend an anti-bacterial, anti-viral and insect-repellent treatment, although they publish no detail of what that treatment is.
