Spear & Jackson Elements Border Spade – Model 4194NB, for Gardeners and Allotment Growers
The Elements Border Spade is a smaller digging spade with a hardened carbon steel head and lacquered ash shaft, from Spear & Jackson's Elements range of digging tools.
Its smaller head is sized for digging in borders and between plants, where a full-size spade would disturb neighbouring planting. It easily exceeds the BS3388 load test.
Performance & Benefits
- Heat-treated, hardened carbon steel head for strength and durability
- Hammer-finish coated head for improved resistance to rust, scratches, humidity and soil alkalis
- Clear-lacquered, weatherproofed ash wood shaft
- Smaller head for digging in borders and between plants
- Forward-tilted handle and polypropylene D-shaped soft grip for comfort
- Treaded head for comfort under foot
Suitable For

- Smaller gardens and raised beds
- Gardeners who find a full-size spade heavy
- Allotments and vegetable plots
How to Use
- Place the blade upright and push down with your foot on the tread
