Equine America Pro Gut Balancer – 450g
Pro Gut Balancer combines three things that work on the hindgut in different ways: a live yeast, Saccharomyces cerevisiae MUCL 39885, at 2.5 x 10^10 colony forming units per 30g serving; fructo-oligosaccharide prebiotic at 10g a serving; and mannan-oligosaccharide at 2.5g. The carrier is whole micronized full-fat linseed, which brings 2.2g of omega 3 with it.
Dose is the thing to get right here, because the two rates are very different. Equine America give 30g a day for a 500kg horse during peak disruption and 15g a day for maintenance, with 60g as the ceiling. A 450g tub therefore covers 15 days at the disruption rate and 30 days at maintenance — Equine America's headline 30-day supply is the maintenance figure, not the loading one.

Suitable For
- Horses travelling, moving yards, or going away to stud.
- Supporting the gut through a course of antibiotics or a period of illness, on veterinary advice.
- Horses on a high-concentrate ration where fibre digestion needs supporting.
- Competition horses needing a NOPS-accredited product.
- Not a treatment for gastric ulcers, which are a diagnosis and a prescription rather than a supplement. Speak to your vet if you suspect them.
Feeding
- Peak disruption, 500kg horse: 30g a day. Maintenance: 15g a day. Maximum: 60g a day.
- A 30g measure is enclosed.
- 450g tub: 15 days at the 30g disruption rate, 30 days at the 15g maintenance rate.
- Feed for 7 to 10 days before, during and after a stressful period rather than starting on the day.
- Mix into the normal feed. Also made in 900g and 2.7kg tubs if you are feeding long term.
